Kris is very happy to be entering his fifth year as the Assistant Director of the VIP’s. He is a Senior Music Education major at West Virginia University with aspirations of becoming a public school music teacher someday. At WVU he is a member of the University Choir, and “The Pride of West Virginia”, WVU’s nationally recognized marching band. Also at WVU, Kris studies voice with Dr. William Koehler and conducting with Dr. Kathleen Shannon.
Aside from teaching and conducting, Kris spends his time performing in equity and non equity productions around the state. Kris is a veteran actor, singer, and stage manager with more than fifty shows/productions under his belt.
A 2006 graduate of Capital High School in Charleston, Kris performed in numerous productions with their state champion Theatre Department and nationally recognized Show Choir. A few years ago he had the honor of winning the state of West Virginia's National Anthem Project and was selected to represent West Virginia in the National Anthem Project finals in Washington, DC.
Kris is a proud member of MENC, ACDA, and WVMEA, which are all advocates for music education in the twenty first century. After finishing his undergraduate degree he plans to follow his dreams and pursue a Master’s Degree in Musical Theatre in NYC, and will hopefully have the honor of performing on Broadway someday. |
